VCapture privacy policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

VCapture is published by Channels Manager Inc dba Solid Commerce ("we"). It consists of a desktop application for Windows and an optional browser extension for Chrome and Edge. This policy explains what they handle.

What VCapture does

VCapture shows a screen, a window or a browser tab that you have explicitly chosen to assistants you have linked to your own VCapture account. Optionally, for a browser tab you have attached, it can carry out navigation and form-filling that you have approved in advance.

Nothing is shared until you choose to share it, and sharing stops when you stop it.

What we collect

Images of what you share. While a screen, window or tab is shared, VCapture captures still images of it, roughly one every two seconds, and uploads them to your account. These images are encrypted on your computer before they leave it, with a key held by your installation of the desktop application. We cannot read them.

The name and identifiers of a shared resource. For example "Screen 1", and for an attached browser tab, the website address (origin) and the page title.

Account information. The email address and identifier of the account you sign in with.

Connection records. When an assistant connects, we record which linked assistant it was, when, and the network address it connected from, so that you can tell your linked assistants apart and revoke one you do not recognise.

Browser page structure, only while you have enabled control. When an assistant inspects an attached tab, the extension returns a bounded list of element references and the labels those elements show. It does not return page HTML, cookies, storage, field values or hidden text.

What we never collect

We do not collect passwords, payment details, health information, personal communications, location, or your browsing history. The extension reads only a tab you have explicitly attached, never other tabs or windows. Form fields the browser marks as passwords, one-time codes or payment details are excluded from everything the extension returns.

How it is used

Captured images and the information above are used solely to operate the product: to show a shared resource to the assistants you have linked, and to carry out actions you have approved. We do not sell or transfer this data to third parties, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness.

Where it is stored, and for how long

Images are stored encrypted in Microsoft Azure, in storage that belongs to your account, and are deleted automatically after a retention period that defaults to sixty minutes. You can delete captures for a date range at any time from the application. Account and connection records are kept while your account exists.

Who can see what you share

Any assistant you have linked to your account can view what you are currently sharing, and can act on a resource for which you have turned control on. The application lists your linked assistants and lets you revoke any of them, which takes effect immediately. Stopping a share also removes access immediately.

Browser control

Control is off unless you turn it on for a specific attached tab. When you turn it on, you choose the websites an assistant may navigate to, and the named values it may type. An assistant can never supply text of its own and can never act outside the websites you listed. You choose whether clicks happen straight away or ask you each time. If the tab navigates to a website you did not approve, control is switched off automatically.

Your choices

You can stop sharing, revoke any linked assistant, turn control off, delete stored captures, and uninstall the application or the extension at any time.
